SARA
Founder & Lead Mentor

Sara Gonzalez is a certified and licensed Spanish-English bilingual speech-language pathologist (SLP) based in New York.
She earned her Master’s degree and TSSLD certification from Adelphi University in 2018 and holds a bilingual extension certificate from Columbia University, Teachers College.
Sara began her career in Early Intervention, later transitioned to the preschool setting, and currently works as a bilingual school-based SLP. She is deeply passionate about supporting and advocating for bilingual students and their families.
In the summer of 2021, Sara initiated a mentorship experience with two students pursuing careers as bilingual SLPs. Her vision was clear: to guide and empower underrepresented students entering the field. With less than 8% of professionals in speech-language pathology identifying as bilingual, Sara recognized the importance of creating connections among bilingual students and SLPs to help diversify the profession.
As the founder of the B.E.A.M. SLP Program, Sara is committed to building a nationwide community of bilingual mentors and mentees. She is proud to be a bilingual SLP and encourages all multicultural students and professionals to get involved in the B.E.A.M. SLP Program.
